Finishes we install
| Finish | Character | Wear behaviour | Pairs with |
|---|---|---|---|
| Matte black | Graphic, high contrast | Shows water spotting; wipe dry | White tile, oak, warm brass taps |
| Brushed nickel | Neutral, forgiving | Best at hiding fingerprints | Most builder taps, grey tile |
| Polished chrome | Bright, classic | Very durable; shows spotting | Marble, classic bathrooms |
| Brushed brass / gold | Warm, luxurious | PVD-coated versions resist tarnish | Low-iron glass, marble, walnut |
| Bronze / gunmetal | Deep, moody | Excellent durability | Dark tile, fluted glass |
Match the tap, not the light
The reliable rule for bathrooms: shower hardware should match the plumbing fixtures. Lighting and cabinet hardware can differ. Mixing two metals is fine when one is clearly dominant and the second is repeated at least twice in the room.
Handle and hinge notes
- Ladder pulls read best on doors 900 mm and wider; knobs suit narrow doors.
- Wall-mount hinges require solid blocking behind the tile — coordinate before board goes up.
- Glass-to-glass hinges are the cleanest look but require perfectly plumb adjacent panels.
- Header bars are sometimes structurally required on tall or wide panels — we will tell you at quote stage.
